Here is a chance to lead strategic communications planning and provide impactful advice and input as we develop the Corporate Communications team and strategy for Health Shared Services. Health Shared Services is a newly established provincial health corporation with over 15,000 employees delivering corporate, non-clinical services to Alberta’s health system. In this one-year contract position, you will work across diverse program areas, collaborate with communications professionals, and build relationships with shared services experts throughout provincial health agencies and corporations. As the successful candidate, you will report to the Executive Director of Communications and play a key role in shaping the communications strategy for Health Shared Services. You will lead the development and implementation of communications plans, including building tactics to deliver strategic messaging related to human resources, labour relations, information technology, and corporate services. You will collaborate with corporate communications advisors in Edmonton and Calgary, using keen judgment to support advisors and manage complex projects. You will provide communications advice on emerging and sensitive issues. Success in this role requires fostering strong relationships with partners and leaders. You have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience developing complex strategic communications plans, and experience in issues management. Confidence in advising senior leaders, proven ability to motivate and coach others, and the capacity to understand and communicate complex processes and terminology are critical. You take pride in building strong relationships and delivering outstanding services. The ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple priorities are also required.
Description:
Leads the development and implementation of communication activities for Health Shared Services. Requires the planning and delivery of strategic communications and issues management activities in relation to corporate communications for Health Shared Services and other organizations within the Alberta health system, with a focus on human resources, labour relations, information technology and corporate services. Responsible for supporting the work of corporate communication advisors located in Edmonton and Calgary. Requires independent thinking and the ability to work autonomously in undertaking daily communications tasks and complex and significant projects and issues. Must identify and maintain critical relationships with a significant number of internal and external teams, partners and leaders.

A degree in communications or a related field. Two or more years of supervisory or project management experience. A minimum of six to eight years of progressive communications experience. Equivalent experience and qualifications will be considered
