Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Current certification of Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Minimum 5 years surgical processor experience in an acute care setting with competence Medivators and Steris System 1E equipment competence and follow surgical processing best practice guidelines. Minimum 3 years of endoscopy reprocessing experience. Expertise in aseptic technique principles and universal precautions for prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). Critical thinker with the ability to follow through on issues/actions, plans/decisions employing the appropriate monitoring system to ensure follow through is undertaken. Effective communication skills. Commitment to team development and team building. Able to work under pressure while being flexible and able to balance the significant mental and visual demands to handle competing and frequently changing priorities within tight deadlines. Basic computer skills including Connect Care and MS programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Experience with AHS’s change management processes. Recent staff scheduling experience of no less than 1 year. All Surgical Processors must have the physical ability to lift 18 kilograms (40lbs), push or pull carts weighing up to 114 kilograms (250lbs).

Preferred Qualifications:

1 - 3 years MDR rural healthcare facility experience. 1 – 3 years' experience with ophthalmology instrumentation for cataract surgery. Previous experience with reviews and implementation of recommendations by Accreditation Canada and Infection Prevention & Control. Experience with the Makeshift Staff Scheduling program.
