Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of the Unit Clerk Course—certificate required. Medical terminology training required. Health care provider-CPR through Heart and Stroke Foundation is required. Must be able to understand and communicate effectively, in writing and verbally in the English language is required. Must be proficient in the use of Windows, VAX, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Offices products. Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative is required. Must be flexible, able to prioritize and organize workload and adjust to rapidly changing needs of the department. Must maintain patient confidentiality. Must have the ability to work well within a team and deal effectively with conflict and sensitive issues.
Preferred Qualifications:GI/Pulmonary or Endoscopy clinic experience an asset. Previous experience with e-Clinician, or current experience with Connect Care an asset. Previous experience with EndoWorks an asset. Experience with detailed clinical reporting and the creation and managing of Excel spreadsheets preferred. Timekeeping experience preferred.
