Planning, allocating and managing physical and human resources and assessing resource requirements to meet the greatest needs in service delivery. Promoting innovative practice and quality improvement to enhance service provision consistent with regional and provincial objectives. The safety performance of the staff and the development and implementation of mitigation strategies related to work-related lost time events. Communication to staff related to corporate, departmental and branch operations, ensuring staff have the information to safely and effectively perform required tasks. Performance management/evaluation, ensuring performance is consistent with established standards, medical protocols, policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care and service delivery.

Graduate of an Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) approved program and registered with The Alberta College of Paramedics, and a member in good standing. A Minimum of 5 years in an Emergency Service role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Valid Alberta Class 4 Operators license with no more than 6 demerits.
Additional Required Qualifications:Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proved ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally within a unionized environment. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with the public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Demonstrated ability in conflict and crisis management. Ability to respond and render care to patients within the hospital and within the community. A clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Preferred Qualifications:An undergraduate or graduate degree in management, health care administration, business or leadership is preferred. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
