Your Opportunity:

You would be responsible for 20+ Primary and Advance care Paramedics reporting directly to the operations supervisor. The successful applicant may oversee several more positions on a situational basis while at Hospitals, on events or during Major incidents. You would also be responsible for the individual sites operational budget through operations. Includes managing supplies and staffing models. They would have input on identifying future budget needs. The successful applicant will provide input in a consultative manner when requested to do so. Is the significant vector in the communication of Strategic plans due to the communication responsibility of the position. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Operations of EMS, the Supervisor – Operations, performs a leadership role within EMS. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization of the activities of EMS in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position is responsible and accountable for making front line operational decisions in relations to staffing and deployment, while providing frontline leadership. This positions plays an instrumental role in providing front line support through performance management, which includes Learning Plans, performance appraisals and also is responsible for hiring Advanced Care Paramedics and Primary Care Paramedics.

Required Qualifications:

Paramedic or EMT-A registration and 5 years' experience in position. Registered with Alberta College of Paramedics. Class IV License.


Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree preferred. Emergency Management or Health Services. Conflict management skills, computing skills, strong communication skills.
