Description:
The Senior Consultant, Transformation, Strategy & Projects provides business planning expertise within the Emergency Health Services Alberta (EHS–Alberta) Transformation portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Program Lead, Transformation, this position supports the Senior Program Lead and Program Chief, Transformation in developing, authoring, coordinating, and monitoring business plans and reports that advance organizational priorities and support informed decisions. The Senior Consultant leads the preparation of business cases, business plans, annual operating plans, briefing documents, and reports. Working with program leaders and Business Advisory Services, the role assesses operational needs, evaluates options, and brings together financial, workforce, and service information to support resource requests and planning recommendations. Key responsibilities include conducting research and analysis, identifying resource requirements, assessing risks and dependencies, and translating proposed initiatives into clear plans with defined scope, costs, timelines, deliverables, and measurable outcomes. The position provides recommendations to help leaders assess feasibility, prioritize initiatives, and align proposals with organizational direction and available resources. Working across portfolios and business units, the Senior Consultant coordinates planning inputs, validates assumptions, and ensures business planning documents are accurate, consistent, and ready for leadership review. The role tracks progress against approved plans and supports grant applications, progress reports, and other required submissions. The position builds collaborative relationships, manages competing priorities, exercises independent judgment, and handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Public Administration, Health Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in business planning, strategic planning, organizational performance, consulting, policy development, health system planning, or a related field, including developing organizational plans and executive-level written materials. Strong analytical, written communication, facilitation, and relationship management skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams; and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Administration, Strategic Management, or a related field. Project Management Professional (PMP), Prosci Change Management, Lean, or another relevant professional designation. Experience in healthcare, emergency medical services, or the public sector, supporting executive leadership, organizational planning, performance measurement, or transformation initiatives.
