Your Opportunity:

The Senior Advisor is a cornerstone role within the Connect Care initiative, aimed at revolutionizing how prescribers and clinical teams deliver care across Alberta. As part of the Chief Medical Information Office (CMIO) team, this position offers the unique opportunity to work directly with prescribers and clinical leaders, shaping the future of healthcare through cutting-edge informatics and education. Reporting to the Executive Director, Prescriber Experience, the Senior Advisor is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting comprehensive training and education strategies tailored to the needs of prescribers. This includes aligning provincial workflows with Connect Care's capabilities, leveraging the Epic platform, and fostering sustainable adoption of health information systems.

Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver role-based training tailored for prescribers, adapting Epic foundation materials to align with AHS workflows. Collaborate with subject matter experts to create educational packages that meet the specific needs of prescribers across the province. Lead training sessions, assess user readiness, and support ongoing learning postimplementation. Facilitate organizational change by enabling prescribers to transition seamlessly to using Connect Care. Engage in strategic planning to ensure training resources and programs align with Connect Care’s goals. Provide expertise to resolve challenges related to prescriber workflows and education.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree required; a clinical background is an asset. Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience, with a focus on leadership or education. Knowledge of Alberta Health Services and clinical informatics processes. Certification in Epic (or willingness to obtain and maintain certification). Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to manage training programs and deliver results in complex healthcare settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

CIS application curriculum development and training experience is highly desirable. Current Epic Principal Training Certification an asset. Master’s degree in a related field preferred. Clinical background preferred. CPHIMSS certification an asset.
