Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Current CARNA registration and Basic Cardiac Life Support-Health Care Provider. BScN required. Minimum of 3 years current (within one year) clinical nephrology nursing experience required. Experience includes Chronic Kidney Disease clinic, Diabetic Nephropathy Prevention Clinic, Peritoneal Dialysis, Home Hemodialysis or Hemodialysis. Previous experience as a nurse case manager. Experience in the presentation of formal patient education. Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to operate cohesively within a team environment. Demonstrated patient assessment skills on medically complex patients. Must be able to type for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and assist with transfer of patients. Must be able to push a patient in a bariatric wheelchair.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in the CKD clinic. Proven ability to manage complex issues, multiple patients and competing demands. Previous experience in Chronic Disease management. Experience with Connect Care.
