Registered Nurse
Your Opportunity:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized outpatient nursing care within the Hepatitis Support Program (HSP), Infectious Diseases clinics, and the Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) clinic. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the RN collaborates with Infectious Disease Specialists, Respirologists, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to support patients with complex infectious diseases. Using the nursing process, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills, the RN manages viral hepatitis intake referrals and provides case management for Hepatitis C patients, including health promotion, patient education, diagnostic review, and support with medication access and insurance coverage. The RN supports a high-volume Hepatitis B RN clinic through patient assessment, monitoring, education, and follow-up. The RN assists Infectious Disease clinics with patient education and FibroScan procedures and supports care of patients with suspected or confirmed NTM infection. Responsibilities include sputum induction and specimen collection, coordination of diagnostic testing, patient education related to disease management and treatment adherence, and monitoring patients receiving long-term antimicrobial therapy. The RN participates as an interdisciplinary team member and contributes to care coordination, program development, and quality improvement initiatives supporting patients with chronic infectious diseases. Moderate physical activity is required, including reaching, prolonged computer and telephone work, standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, and moving throughout the clinical environment. The role requires the ability to lift and carry 10–15 kg and work independently across Infectious Disease, HBV RN, and FibroScan clinics while managing multiple priorities.
