Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Three years of recent Device Clinic/CICU/CVICU/EP or Cath Lab. Completion of an approved Critical Care Course (example: OPACCA). Must demonstrate excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, communication, problem solving, conflict management organization, and patient care skills. Must be able to wear a lead apron. Must be physically able to transport patients and equipment. Long periods of standing or walking may be required. Must Submit a resume to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with pre and post device implant care preferred. Strong understanding of adult teaching principles preferred. Experience with cardiac devices and/or Electrophysiology studies preferred. Experience and proficiency with rhythm analysis. Basic computer skills are essential.
