Required Qualifications:

Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support CPR certification. Must hold or be able to obtain a valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent and a five (5) year driver abstract current within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits prior to commencing work. Proof of the successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test via the certificate provided by the Lifemark organization for those who do not already hold a clinical position within AHS EMS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP and Community Paramedic). Your F.A.R.E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of your application. Alberta Health Services EMS may verify results with Lifemark to ensure the candidate has successfully completed the test. Candidates must be qualified to perform full operational duties as of start date.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Advanced Care Paramedics must maintain clinical competencies within their scope of practice as determined by A.H.S. Must be able to aid in patient transfers, support the lifting and movement of patients as needed and assist E.M.S. staff with the loading of patients onto stretchers Be able to demonstrate satisfactory past work performance and relevant work experience. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team. Excellent ability to multitask utilizing various computer software and technology combinations in a busy and dynamic environment. Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (A.C.P.) as an Advanced Care Paramedic. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's License with no more than six (6) demerits. Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months from the application date.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Community Paramedic experience is an asset. Previous Patient Coordinator experience preferred. Previous experience in a community health or urgent care setting is preferred. Previous leadership experience preferred.
