Coordinator, EMS Business Standards and Operations Support
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Provincial Manager EMS Medical Device Support & Capital Equipment, the incumbent will create, implement, oversee and actively participate in workflow processes pertaining the preventative maintenance, repair, asset tracking, parts inventory, bulletin and organizational communication documents of all EMS patient handling equipment and medical devices. The incumbent is the EMS technical expert and possesses a strong understanding of EMS workflow processes as well. The incumbent of this position is responsible to ensure: Regular Maintenance of Patient Handling Equipment including, but not limited to, Power-Load systems, power and manual cots, stair chairs, spine boards, scoop stretchers, straps, etc. Patient Care Devices including, but not limited to, cardiac monitors, AED’s, portable and wall mounted suction devices, IV pumps, ventilators, Point of Care Testing Devices (i.e. glucometers and i-stats) receive their preventative maintenance as manufacturer recommended and that they are serviced and maintained in alignment with AHS and/or EMS Medical Device policies and procedures/processes. Both written and verbal communication is clear and concise. The incumbent is required to create Front Line Notifications (FLN), equipment updates and equipment newsletters and will need to speak to equipment topics at various meeting venues effectively. Intermittent travel within the province is a requirement of this position.
Description:
As a Coordinator, you will ensure that the EMS ambulance fleet, medical equipment & supply and emergency response stations meet provincial standards and regulations as determined by Alberta Health and Wellness, and by AHS Quality and Patient Safety as reflected in the AHS EMS Medical Control Protocols. You will be the technical expert in these areas and will possess a strong understanding of EMS workflow processes across all five Provincial Operational Zones. Your typical duties include working with Operations and AHS Vendors to maintain and repair the EMS fleet of vehicles, supply & distribution of EMS uniforms, EMS facility maintenance, medical equipment and medical supplies inventory and distribution.

Completion of an Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) accredited program. Active registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits.
