Mental Health Therapist Provincial
Your Opportunity:
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join the Recovery Alberta Adult Acute inpatient team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Unit Manager, the Mental Health Therapist Provincial (MHT) is primarily responsible for direct clinical service in the area(s) of screening, assessment, and treatment of individuals with complex addiction and mental health needs and/or concurrent disorders. Treatment is provided through the use of group and individual psychotherapy. Utilizing evidence-based practice, the MHT will provide inpatient-based assessment, service planning, crisis management, consultation and referral, and psychotherapy support. These individuals typically have complex needs and often multiple diagnoses, including mental health and co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. This includes patients who have poorly controlled conditions but are sufficiently stable to be working toward symptom control and effective, goal-directed self-management plans. Group facilitation skills and concurrent capability are requirements for this position. The MHT works closely with the interdisciplinary team and collaborates with other health and social service providers in treatment planning and transitioning of patient into the community. The MHT, in collaboration with the team, ensures that clinical services are delivered safely and are of high quality for clients, families, and community partners. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.
