Your Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, enthusiastic, and innovative Child and Adolescent Mental Health Therapist (MHT)! The RAH child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry team is very excited to have a MHT join the team. We are seeking someone with a dynamic, energetic work ethic and a passion for working with children, youth and their families. This person will have experience in assessment, treatment, and consultation and must be familiar with a broad range of emotional, social, behavioral, and mental health challenges young people are experiencing. As part of the Children, Youth & Families – Addiction & Mental Health Program, the MHT will work closely with child and adolescent psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, nursing, and child development specialists to work towards positive outcomes for children, youth and families accessing these services. The successful candidate will offer individual and group therapy to the young people in hospital, engage in leisure and recreational activities as part of daily programming, and will also participate in weekly conferences where they will share their expertise and views with the interdisciplinary team. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2-4 years’ experience working with children and youth in a mental health setting. NVCI and Suicide Prevention training required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care experience preferred.
