Your Opportunity:
This MRT II position performs CT and General radiology examinations in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Work experience as both a GR and CT technologist within the last 3 years in a hospital setting is required. IV certification required. Connect Care and IMPAX proficiency required. Excellent technical knowledge and skills are required. Radiation safety knowledge required. Ability to assume responsibility and work effectively both independently and within a team. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Must be able to demonstrate interest in professional growth. Excellent perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy required. Good work ethic and positive attitude necessary. Must have excellent organizational, communication, computer and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and physicians. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:CT courses I, II, III would be an asset. CTIC Certification preferred. CVAD certification preferred. AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses preferred. Demonstrated participation in AHS Diagnostic Imaging Quality program/Peervue. Experience and aptitude in mentoring students an asset.
