Your Opportunity:

The Site Manager for Clinical Nurse Education, Discharge Planning, Nursing Supervisors and Strategic Initiatives is responsible and accountable for leading teams in the planning, delivery and evaluation of assigned programs and services in support of the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. Description:

This administrative level site manager position is accountable for the Clinical Education, Discharge Planning, Patient Flow/Nursing Supervisors & Strategic Initiatives portfolio in Area 9. The professional position reports directly to the Senior Operating Officer - Area 9, works with a high degree of independence, and in concert with the Senior Operating Officer and the Clinical Operations team to plan, implement and grow programs and processes. The site manager will develop and manage various initiatives and/or programs, providing ongoing support between individuals, departments, sites, and programs. The site manager will interpret client needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to non-standard issues and requests. The site manager will provide leadership to the Clinical Nurse Educator team in developing a strategy for the coordination and delivery of educational tools and resources in Area 9 and will lead the implementation of assigned projects and programs. The position provides advice and direction to clients within its specialty function and scope. The Site manager role involves facilitating ongoing project needs and ensures operational issues related to projects are communicated with stakeholders. The position provides oversight and support for site-wide initiatives including, but not limited to, diversity, inclusion, wellness, Indigenous engagement, and ongoing culture improvement. The position also provides oversight of overall patient flow through the healthcare system with responsibility of the Nursing Supervisor portfolio. The Site manager works to ensure Alberta Health Services values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of services to client groups. The Professional, Program or Service has full scope supervisory responsibility for professional staff.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree, Diploma in a healthcare profession, or 5 years in a manager or supervisory capacity in a healthcare environment. Progressive leadership experience in health services delivery. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Current professional registration and valid driver’s license. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of programs and Connect Care training and experience is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, customer focused orientation and commitment to provide a quality service. Leadership skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching with an ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. An ability to manage resources in a complex environment. An ability to build and foster collaboration with stakeholders, care givers, senior management and external agencies. Thorough working knowledge of management principles in the provision of health care. Working knowledge of Operational Best Practice strategies and Activity Based Budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing a unionized work force. General understanding of AHS funding process and Capital Management processes. Flexibility, collaboration, innovation, strategic planning, systems-thinking, inclusivity, and a patient-centred approach are essential skills for the position.
