Under the general supervision of the manager, within Clinical Services Development, the IT Analyst II will: Work closely with other IT teams such as Database Services, Server Compute, Network Services, Service Desk, Data Archiving and Governance, Project Management Office (PMO), etc. Build software using the SDLC and Agile methodologies, with the ability to gather and translate business requirements into functional specifications. Utilize automated testing frameworks to design, develop, and maintain automated tests. Ensure performance, security, and quality through a combination of rigorous manual and automated testing (regression, unit, and integration, etc.). Create documentation in relation to testing paradigms; train fellow developers in testing methodologies and practices; provide guidance and supervision to new co-op students, ensure understanding and adherence to testing standards. Work with APIs to integrate various systems, enhancing interoperability and efficiency. Collect and analyze data to identify trends and patterns, providing actionable insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports. Utilize data visualization techniques to support data-driven planning, decision-making, and presentations. Research, analyze, and evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.

As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field is required. Strong knowledge with at least 7 years’ experience of architectural patterns and styles (e.g., MVC, SOA, microservices), and expertise in system design, modularity, and integration. In-depth knowledge of testing paradigms, using Selenium and xUnit.net. Comprehensive expertise with responsive design principles, mobile-first development, and mock-up tools such as Figma and Adobe XD. Expert level programmer in Oracle APEX and PL/SQL, with proficiency in T-/SQL, data modeling, and database management tools such as SSMS and Oracle SQL Developer. Proficient in a range of computer languages (C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, etc.); tools and technologies (Visual Studio, Xcode, Azure DevOps, IIS, .NET, Blazor, Vue.js, Entity Framework, Android SDK, Zoom API, Mailchimp API) Detailed understanding of version control systems, such as Git and TFS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extensive understanding of various clinical departments and associated systems such as Congenital Heart Program, Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network (wcchn.ca), Pediatric Eating and Swallowing (PEAS.ahs.ca), Conservative Kidney Management (CKMcare.com), Chief Medical Information Office (CMIO), Glenrose Service Log (GSL), and the Data Collection – Health Information Management’s Service Log.
Preferred Qualifications:Solid analytical skills in development and implementation of systems of moderate size/complexity. Thorough understanding of SEO best practices. Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SSRS) Experience with development frameworks, middleware, cloud services, and DevOps practices. Proficient in development paradigms (Agile, RAD, TDD, Object-Oriented Programming, n-Tier architecture, etc.). UX and UI and ITIL Foundation Certification.
