Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an Alberta College of Paramedics approved program and current registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics. Minimum of five (5) years providing care or leadership in Emergency Medical Services. Experience working in EMS in a leadership role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Proven experience and professional development in a leadership role. Valid Alberta Class 4 Operators License with no more than 6 demerits.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally within a unionized environment. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with the public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Demonstrated ability in conflict and crisis management.
