If so, the Foothills Medical Center Facilities, Maintenance, & Engineering (FM&E) has an amazing opportunity for an experienced Electronics Technologist to join our team. The position of Electronics Technologist II is crucial in ensuring optimal operation on a wide variety of complex non-clinical electronic systems in accordance with manuals, specifications and AHS standards and practices. Key Responsibilities: Perform emergency and preventative maintenance for access control, automatic door operators, camera systems dynamic glass, lighting automation, nurse call, pneumatic tube, sterilization systems and surgical tables, VFD's... Program, install, calibrate and troubleshoot electronic/electrical systems hardware and software. Inspect and test circuit boards, low-voltage power systems, including, valves, actuators, relays, and sensors. Inspect and test network communication systems. Complete service reports and preventive maintenance checklists accurately. Verify the installation and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. Utilize technical manuals and written instructions when deemed necessary to calibrate electronic/electrical equipment, maintain an information library and documentation. Investigates viability of existing and new electronic/electrical systems and equipment, recommending changes in strategy. This position involves working in various environments. As an Electronics Technologist II, you will perform maintenance and repair duties on a variety of complex non-clinical electronic systems in accordance with manuals, specifications and AHS standards and practices. You will be responsible for complex non-clinical electronic systems and will exercise independence when completing daily responsibilities of the position.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Certificate in one of the following trades: Electrician, Electronics Technician or Instrument Technician from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training; or completion of a two-year diploma of related technology (Electronic Technologist).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment, preferably in a healthcare setting. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and calibrating complex electronic systems. Strong knowledge of electronic equipment, programming, repair, install and replacement of healthcare systems used such as Nurse Call, AMAG, CCTV, ADOs, Dynamic Glass, Lighting Automation, PTS, Sterilization equipment Macerators, OR tables, etc. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with hospital safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality control practices. Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly in high-pressure situations. Strong analytical thinking for assessing equipment performance and identifying solutions. Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with healthcare staff and vendors. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment. Manual dexterity and attention to detail for delicate repairs and precise calibrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5-7 years' experience working in maintenance and repair of electronic equipment in a healthcare environment. Proficiency in network equipment used to support medical operations. Experience with advanced diagnostic and calibration software tools. Experience leading or coordinating maintenance projects, and communication with stakeholders. Experience in a hospital or large healthcare facility with a focus on regulatory compliance and patient safety standards will be given preference.
