Are you looking for an opportunity to flex your knowledge in Facility Operations? If so, the Foothills Medical Center Facilities, Maintenance, & Engineering (FM&E) has an amazing opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Worker III to join our team. Under limited supervision of the Director/Manager, the Maintenance Worker III performs a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair duties, requiring the use of schematics, blueprints, specifications and using precedent and judgement in determining work methods used in accordance with accepted standards, regulations and procedures. Performs highly skilled repair, maintenance and installation duties on complex mechanical systems such as air system, washing machines, dishwashers, Locates or traces worn parts and reassembles machinery or equipment, repairs or replaces worn parts and reassembles tests, adjusts and aligns drive and suspension systems, installs, cleans, lubricates, and adjusts pumps, motors, fans, compressors, and control systems. Completes demand and preventative maintenance work on beds, wheelchairs, stretchers and carts. Repair furniture and recover furniture. Assists Journeyman or other maintenance staff with various tasks and projects.

Description:

As a Maintenance Worker III, you may perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment and complex mechanical systems to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may utilize your maintenance skills and experience in the performance of preventative and demand maintenance within the exterior and interior of the building. Your duties may include troubleshooting and repairing electronic components on patient and hospital equipment; monitoring, troubleshooting and performing repairs on boilers, HVAC, medical air and vacuum systems and pure water systems. In addition, you may be required to coordinate and assign work to other Maintenance Worker staff in order to meet operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary. Possession of a valid driver's licence.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong mechanical and electrical competency, ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other equipment problems. Working knowledge of furniture repair with a strong understanding of upholstery. Working knowledge of computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Journeyperson Trade Certificate/Qualification (ex. Carpenter, Millwright, Electronics other). Minimum 3 years’ experience with furniture repair and upholstery.
