Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with the applicable regulatory college. A minimum of 5 years' experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.

Additional Required Qualifications:

As a bona fide occupational requirement, and under Section 11 of the Alberta Human Rights Act, only Indigenous applicants will be considered. We encourage Indigenous candidates to self- identify. Minimum 3-5 years of direct clinical experience in working with Indigenous communities and/or organizations in a professional capacity. 1-3 years demonstrated formal clinical supervisory experience. Advanced skills in assessment and intervention for individuals of all ages with addiction and mental health concerns, including crisis intervention skills. Demonstrated leadership and teaching skills. Good understanding of the geographical challenges in certain services such mental health resources, internet and phone. Strong working knowledge of the Indigenous services and supports across the health system across the province and outside and the ability to locate resources that may be useful. Knowledge of and experience with Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racist competencies and practices. Experience working in a culturally diverse environment and from a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Experience working from relationship-based, harm reduction, strengths based, and trauma-informed approaches. Advanced computer skills essential, including working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 applications, Genesys (computer-based phone software); Echo Access (teletriage clinical assessment software and protocols). and the ability to learn and support staff using multiple electronic platforms concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to speak or understand any of the Indigenous languages spoken within the territories of Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 or the Metis Settlements of Alberta. This position will be part of Primary Care Alberta effective November 18, 2024.
