Your Opportunity:

The Admin-IV in the General Nephrology Clinic is responsible for patient check in, check out, demographic verification and registration in Connect Care of a fast-paced and high patient volume clinic. They are responsible for scheduling clinic appointments, including virtual appointments, for the nephrologists as well as the multidisciplinary team. The Admin-IV is responsible for processing nephrologists’ orders including scheduling of diagnostic tests, therapies and consultations and document scanning in Connect Care. The Admin-IV is responsible for clinic flow and clinic room assignment on a daily basis and for answering the clinic telephone and redirecting patient calls to the appropriate resource. The Admin-IV also supports patient flow and redirects patient to other areas of the site. This position is based in the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant course and medical terminology required. Computer/keyboarding skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, Access/ Outlook, Net Care. Experience in Connect Care Previous experience as a clerk in an outpatient clinic The successful applicant must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven organization and time management skills and be able to work effectively in stressful situations. Must be able to work well independently. Must be able to lift 20 pounds and push a bariatric patient in a wheelchair.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given to applicants with previous experience in Alberta Kidney Care-North and experience working in either the General Nephrology Clinic, Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic or the Diabetic Nephropathy Clinics.
