Your Opportunity:
The Service Attendant is responsible for the movement of patients, supplies and materials throughout the hospital and/or maintaining a clean, safe and stocked environment for an assigned area. Please note: Classifications Under Review. The New 85 Million dollar Misericordia (MCH) Emergency Department (ED) opened in Fall 2023, is a large urban ED within Edmonton, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Emergency, the Service Attendant is responsible for providing messenger, portering and housekeeping services to the Emergency Department, as well as selected functions related to patient support functions and supply co-ordination. The incumbent works with the unit staff by assisting with the maintenance of a clean environment through the application of universal precautions, stocking rooms, and transportation of patients, supplies and equipment. All activities carried out by this position must be consistent with the policies and procedures of Covenant Health. Please note: Classifications Under Review.
Description:
The Service Attendant supports the department by preforming the tasks of stocking, restocking, cleaning, and portering of equipment, supplies, and patients. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Completion of Grade 10 required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in an emergency care setting preferred. Previous acute care experience is preferred.
