Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:This is a working level position utilizing technical skills and judgment while performing a diverse range of diagnostic procedures and duties within the scope of practice of a Medical Laboratory Technologist I. Current experience in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Specimen Procurement is required. The position includes days, evenings, and weekends; required to take call and live within 30 minutes of the facility when on call. On site On Call room available for use if needed. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Requires strong organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility, work independently and promote good teamwork under pressure and in emergencies. Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload and adapt to stressful situations by showing initiative, good judgment and attention to detail. Practices effective infection control, and safety techniques as applicable. Proficient computer skills. Demonstrate desire and actions to further own knowledge relating to professional development. Ability to interpret, explain and apply applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures Receptive to new ideas and change.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the past 2 years: Working within a Healthcare setting. Connect Care-Epic Experience. Operating and troubleshooting: Vitros XT3400, Dxh600, ACL Elite Pro, i-STAT, Triage, Access 2.
