Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proven ability to work within a computer based environment. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, staff, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast pace changing environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills showing attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to organize, set priorities and multitask. Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Ability to facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace. Demonstrate a customer service attitude and delivery of excellent customer service by effectively meeting customer (internal and external) client needs by means of building productive and respectful customer relations and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction. Demonstrated personal leadership, regardless of role, by leading themselves through change, building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a Health Centre Testing Lab. Experience within the last three year preferred. Experience in an RRL. Experience in Hematology and Chemistry. Working knowledge of Cerner Millennium. Working knowledge of order entry. Proficiency in reading manual differentials. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs. Courses or certificates in personal leadership development. Courses or training in process improvement or change management.
