Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program which includes specimen handling. Equivalent qualifications may be considered. Manual dexterity of manipulation of specimens.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of WHMIS and SDS. Experience with the Cerner Millennium Laboratory Information System. Previous experience working in a Clinical Microbiology Laboratory. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, good organizational skills, computer skills including Word and databases, flexibility with the ability to work within an environment of change, the ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem solve, as well as effective communication skills.
