Your Opportunity:

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for an individual to join Alberta Kidney Care - North (AKC-N) as a Unit Manager (UM). AKC-N provides renal replacement therapies and prevention measures to patients in Central and Northern Alberta, as well as parts of the NWT, Saskatchewan and BC. AKC-N is constantly growing and adapting to ensure quality service is provided to this population of patients. The Unit Manager is responsible & accountable for providing inter-professional clinical leadership and effective & efficient management of all aspects of assigned Hemodialysis Units.

Description:

The Unit Manager is responsible and accountable for making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of AKC-N in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The UM reports to the Patient Care Manager (PCM) within their respective portfolio and works within a team. The successful candidate must be dynamic, innovative and a team player.

Required Qualifications:

Active CRNA Registration required. 2-3 years Nephrology Nursing experience required. BCLS-HCP required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Possess a record of accomplishment in leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching staff. Strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate, inspire and build confidence in others to achieve common goals. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influence skills, patient-focused care and commitment to providing quality services. Demonstrated effective conflict resolution and change management skills. Ability to manager human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Ability to integrate and apply clinical excellence in the day to day operations of the department. 2-3 years of Nephrology Nurse Experience required in the past 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

C Neph (C) an asset. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered.
