Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:A one-year Unit Clerk certificate with practicum component from a recognized post-secondary institution is required. The successful completion of a recognized course in medical terminology is necessary. Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, Connect Care, Netcare, ESP required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions is required. Ability to follow up on test results is required. Detail to accuracy and timelines is required. Demonstrated excellence with interpersonal communications skills, including telephone skills is required. A commitment to team approach is required. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a high acuity setting is preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered. Experience in a surgical unit is preferred.
