Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Unit Clerk in an acute care setting. Inpatient Unit Clerk training and experience. Participation in unit or hospital-based initiatives and committees. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Connect Care, and NetCare. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work under time constraints, within a fast-paced changing environment. Demonstrated ability to function in highly stressful situations. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of specific families and team members. Must convey and demonstrate AHS’ five core values.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, accountability, time management, and problem-solving ability. Flexible in the work environment and able to set priorities. Excellent telephone manner. Ability to function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. Experience with staffing and payroll an asset.
