Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of Ambulatory Unit Clerk experience. Completion of a Medical Terminology and Unit Clerk course. Medical Office Assistant Certificate from a recognized school. Demonstrated proficiency using Connect Care and Netcare. Experience collaborating with nursing, physicians, and physicians’ offices. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment where superior organization, prioritization, adaptability, and multitasking skills are required. Demonstrated adaptability and ability to function independently. Superior, demonstrated skill in team collaboration and support. Ability and willingness to cover peers’ workload as necessary. Demonstrated ability in Patient and Family Centered Care, empathy, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Ability to assist with moving and directing patients. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills. Competence with typing, clinical/scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite required. Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment where prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Connect Care.
