Located in Edmonton and part of the University of Alberta Hospital, the Mazankowski provides exposure to high-acuity patients and advanced procedures across units such as the Cath Lab, CV Surgery, CVICU, CICU, Cardiology, and Cardiac OR. This is a full-time position running from May to August, ideal for UNEs looking to develop clinical skills in a fast-paced, team-based environment focused on patient and family-centered care.
Description:
An Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) position provides an opportunity for a UNE to develop further competency in the range and complexity of Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) practice. The nursing activities performed and level of supervision required is determined by legislation, standards of supervision outlined by professional associations, AHS and competency of the UNE. You will be guided by your education, experience and demonstrated skill level to play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Current enrolment in an approved Alberta nursing education program leading to initial entry to practice as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse. Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate. Successful completion of 3rd year of an RN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RN education program; or currently in the final year of an after-degree RN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RN education program; or successful completion of 2nd year of an RPN nursing education program and a minimum of 600 hours of clinical practice in an approved RPN education program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Candidates must have up-to-date N95 mask fit testing and clinical hours confirmation. Three professional references will be required to be provided at the time of the interview. The position requires a full-time commitment in a scheduled rotation.
