Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1-year experience working in an acute care, long term care and rehabilitation setting, providing therapeutic recreation services for individuals with chronic conditions and complex dementia care needs. Fitness Alberta certification: Foundations in Physical Activity & Exercise and Fitness for the Older. Valid Heart & Stroke Foundation-Basic Life Support certification. Aquatic Therapy experience. Music Care experience. Expressive Arts experience. Dementia Care experience. Class 4 License and the ability to operate a commercial Handi-bus safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

Health Change Methodology. Safe Client Handling Program-It’s Your Move. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Food Safety Alberta certification.
