Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Therapeutic Recreation Assistant or equivalent Diploma/Certification from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent experience required. Preferably 3 years’ experience working in a Therapeutic Recreation position with seniors and/or individuals with challenges. Valid BCLS-HCP certificate required. Reliability is essential to this program. It is a small off site program with very limited ability to provide coverage if one of the team members are off-sick. The latter scenario may lead to cancellation of some or all of the clients on a particular day. This position is anticipated to have high physical demands based on the client need. The successful candidate needs to be physically capable of pushing wheelchairs for an extended period of time, walking with clients, loading clients onto the bus for outings, supporting the clients in a range of physical hygiene tasks and performing client transfers over the course of a full shift. Must be proficient working on a computer, with experience in Connect Care, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Proven organizational and time management skills with good decision-making ability.
