Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of the Provincial Security Communications Centre this position is responsible for: Monitoring radio activity with a primary focus on officer safety. Receiving calls for urgent and non-urgent requests for security assistance. The timely and efficient documentation of all AHS Provincial Protective Services officers’ activities. Researching and delivering information from various information data base systems. Coordinating the administrative assignment of AHS Provincial Protective Services officers.

As the Telecommunications Officer you will monitor radio activity to maintain awareness of field activities, ensure pertinent operational information is shared and provide an immediate link to emergency and non-emergency assistance on behalf of Protective Services Officers.

Completion of Grade 12. Completion of certificate or diploma related to Emergency Communications and Response, Law Enforcement, Security or Criminology. Must be eligible for Solicitor General's Community Peace Officer Level II appointment.
Additional Required Qualifications:Prior experience with radio dispatch in a fast-paced environment with a background in the following areas: Telephone communications/switchboard systems, computer experience with a variety of software; applications, two-way radio systems and equipment, filing and records management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:Valid First Aid certificate, BCLS-HCP training.
