Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Biomedical Electronics Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, electronics and computer skills (Windows and Networking). Proven self-starter and a willingness to continually develop skills through accessing resources and self-study. Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, mechanical, pneumatics, and plumbing systems. Strong technical understanding with schematic and wiring diagrams. Ability to troubleshoot faults to component level and implement repairs. Demonstrate ability and comfort in handling precision tools and other specialty equipment. Must be able to work both independently and as an effective team member. Strong organizational skills, ability to adjust to changing priorities and demands while practicing safe working habits. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with all members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and vendor personnel. Physically able to lift 50 lbs and comfortable working within confined spaces. Must be able to travel internationally for training if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of and experience in information technology experience and related processes in a diverse healthcare environment. Ability to resolve computer hardware and software problems. Experience with Network infrastructure and Server administration is an asset. Membership and/or certification with the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists or equivalent or higher. Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+, network+, VMWare and Citrix certifications
