Your Opportunity:
This student role will support the Mannville Care Centre Recreation Therapy department, working alongside the Allied Health team to support programming and department tasks.
Description:
As a student, you will be working closely alongside the Allied Health team members, where you will support and contribute to effective and efficient delivery of Recreation Therapy services. Your role may include administrative duties such as tracking attendances, equipment inventory, program preparation and facilitation, cleaning supplies, etc. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote patient (client, resident) healthy living, self-care independence and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in high school. Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including experience with the Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications:Student with previous work or volunteer experience in the healthcare sector will be given priority.
