Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate Theological degree and/or Spirituality/Religion and first year of a Master of Theology and/or Spirituality/Religion degree or equivalent required. Minimum completion of one Advanced or two basic Clinical Psychospiritual Education units with the (Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association canadienne de soins spirituels, (CASC/ACSS). with a commitment to completing the additional units. Current membership in the (Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association canadienne de soins spirituels, (CASC/ACSS). Current membership with ACTA The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta Knowledge of and skills to address the needs of families encountering crisis, disability, loss, bereavement and end-of-life Ability to engage in self-reflective practice and demonstrates ability to assess the impact of one’s own spirituality, beliefs, values, assumptions, and power dynamics in relationship with families/staff. Critical thinking and application of principles of evidence-based practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to collaborate respectfully and work effectively with various spiritual, religious, cultural groups and all levels of staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completed CPE training with CASC/ACSS and a commitment towards certification with CASC/ACSS Completion of one advanced unit of CPE preferred. Hospital spiritual care experience preferred.
