Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) through Heart & Stroke Foundation. Within the last 12 months, experience providing psycho-oncological counselling to adults and their support people in Cancer Care Alberta. Within the last two years, experience working with adult patients in cancer care, palliative care, and/ or outpatient clinic settings. Within the last 12 months, experience using virtual health. Within the last 12 months, experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups to assess, diagnoses treat mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions as well as evaluate client response to treatment. Within the last 12 months, provided adult evidence-based therapy models (e.g. trauma-focused therapy, CBT, SET, etc). Experience and/or formal training administering and interpreting assessment instruments. Knowledge and application of harm reduction and risk mitigation approaches. Demonstrated dedication to professional development. Proficient with electronic medical systems. Proficient with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to engage and foster professional and therapeutic relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

A pattern of professional development in oncology. Three years of counseling experience in an adult urban setting. Experience in delivering clinical training to new staff and students. Experience in providing trauma therapy using evidence-based approaches. Within the past five years, involvement in or leadership of formal research projects in collaboration with academic institutions. Experience providing therapy in a group setting.
