Your Opportunity:
The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Social Work Department is seeking a Casual Social Work Team Lead (SW TL) dedicated to excellence in pediatric rehabilitation and family centered care. In this casual role, the SW TL provides leadership support to inpatient and outpatient pediatric programs as needed, offering guidance, coordination, and continuity of Social Work practice during staff absences or high demand periods. The SW TL supports Social Workers in delivering high quality and safe care by applying relevant pediatric standards, legislation, policies, ethics, and practice guidelines. This role collaborates with and advises the Pediatric Social Work Manager on operational needs when covering in the Team Lead capacity, assists with orientation and professional development activities, and provides input into staff and team functioning within the scope of a casual position. The SW TL participates in direct patient care when required, contributes to quality improvement initiatives, and supports the team in meeting documentation and activity capture expectations. The role works closely with multidisciplinary pediatric teams across the site, leads meetings when assigned, and supports the department’s involvement in student practicums. The successful candidate demonstrates strong pediatric clinical experience, critical thinking, and alignment with social work values. They integrate evidence based and practice based knowledge, use self reflection to guide practice, and are committed to continuously enhancing dignity based care for children and their families.
Description:
As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience supervising practicum students. Competency in appropriately applying Social Work approaches, theories, and AHS Core Clinical Activities in pediatric settings Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing oversight, teaching, and the ability to facilitate practice growth in others Advanced experience navigating complex and sensitive issues across a range of settings while being aligned with SW ethics and standards. Extensive experience succeeding at collaborative practice and delivery of interdisciplinary care. High degree of professional integrity, resourcefulness, and independent judgement. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Preferred Qualifications:5+ years of operational leadership experience. 5+ years of relevant clinical experience. Competency in Connect Care usage and activity capture.
