Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Clinical Designation or Authorization to Perform Restricted Psychosocial Interventions. BCLS-HCP- Heart & Stroke Foundation. Within last year, experience providing psycho-oncological counselling to adults using evidence-based therapy models (e.g. trauma-focused therapy, CBT, SET). Within the last two years, experience working with adult patients in cancer care, palliative care, and/or outpatient clinic settings. Within the last year, experience using virtual health. Within the last year, experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups to assess, diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions as well as evaluate client response to treatment. Experience and/or formal training in administering and interpreting assessment instruments. Knowledge and application of harm reduction and risk mitigation approaches. Demonstrated dedication to professional development. Experience supervising students. Proficient with EPIC/Connect Care and with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, both verbally and in writing. Ability to engage and foster professional and therapeutic relationships. Ability to manage an emotionally demanding caseload.

Preferred Qualifications:

A pattern of professional development in oncology and/or palliative care. Three years of counseling experience in an adult urban setting. Experience in design/delivery clinical training to staff/students, provision of trauma therapy using evidence-based approaches and group therapy. Membership in the ACSW Clinical Specialty Registry. Within the past five years, involved in leadership of formal research projects in collaboration with academic institutions.
