Your Opportunity:

In this exciting role as a Social Worker III - Clinical Lead you will be supported by the Area Manager of Allied Health and Social Work Professional Practice Lead (PPL). As the Clinical Lead you will assist the manager in the coordination of Social Work services and the day to day operations of the Allied Health Social Work team for the Women and Child Health Units, Oncology/Palliative Unit, Intensive Care Unit and Emergency department. In addition to Clinical Lead duties you will carry a caseload and provide float coverage as needed. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced Acute Care inpatient setting as part of a Social Work team and multidisciplinary team at Red Deer Regional Hospital. You will be required to prioritize workload, formulate assessments, create intervention plans, make referrals for ongoing treatment and/or discharge planning. Experience in grief and loss is an asset. The position requires knowledge of relevant legislation including the Personal Directives Act, the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act and the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act. Knowledge of community resources and financial supports is required. Effective time management and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. In this role you will have the ability to develop collaborative partnerships with community service providers in order to facilitate stable discharges. Sound clinical judgement and critical thinking combined with the ability to create innovative solutions for complex challenges are also essential in this position

Description:

As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working as a Social Worker in a health service organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience mentoring, coaching, and educating peers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Connect Care. Experience in leadership or supervisory capacity within a healthcare setting is preferred. Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
