Your Opportunity:

The Social Work 3 role at the NW Community Clinic is an advanced clinical position reporting to the Manager of the Child and Adolescent Addiction, Mental Health and Psychiatry Program, Community Clinics. It is part of a community based mental health team providing mental health services to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs. The position is responsible for offering a range of mental health services for children, adolescents and their families including assessment, formulation, diagnosis, individual and family therapy, group therapy, case management and referral to appropriate resources. Treatment is provided within the context of a brief episodic model of care, is evidence informed, goal focused and based on Family and Client Centered Care principles. Collaboration with other services within and outside of AHS is required. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection is required. Providing client care at least one evening a week is an expectation of the position. Supervision of multidisciplinary practicum students and residents is also an expectation. NOTE: the successful candidate must have their Authorization to Perform Psychosocial Interventions. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current registration with Alberta College of Social Workers, with Authorization to Perform Psychosocial Interventions. 3 to 5 years of direct clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health with proven experience as a clinical therapist able to offer individual interventions. Strong, demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in assessment, formulation, diagnosis and treatment skills and independent use and application of DSM-V diagnoses. Ability to provide evidence informed treatment within a brief, episodic model of care. Effective case management skills. Experience proving Trauma Informed care. Ability to work effectively with the team as well as independently. Ability to take initiative and demonstrate reliability and flexibility. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Adherence to AHS policies. Experience working with diverse populations. Proficient in using Windows, E-mail, Microsoft Office (including Excel) and typing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing group therapy. Completion of the Brain Story Certification. Experience with Connect Care. Understanding in the use of ACEs. Experience providing supervision to students. Experience and training in Collaborative Problem Solving
