Your Opportunity:

This advanced clinical lead position provides leadership to staff in delivering safe, quality social work services within the health care setting. This position provides coaching, mentoring and supervising social work staff and students within designated areas; leading in planning and development of service delivery along with management; providing leadership in legislation, regulation and policy within the program area; and communicating clinical program issues and staff support needs. This position also provides advanced clinical services in areas of complexity including decision making capacity. As part of the roll providing oversight and support to staff with social work specific Connect care workflows. This position works closely with the Social Work Manager to provide consistent social work services across the South Zone.

Description:

As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

5 years' experience as a professional social worker is required. Previous leadership experience in social work practice and providing supervision is required. Current BLS/First Aid is required. Previous experience in Geriatric Screening and Assessment is required. Knowledge of and proficiency to use electronic medical records (EMR) is required. Preferably Connect Care/EPIC; however, consideration will be given for experience with other EMR systems. The Clinical lead will work with Connect care support staff to oversee and teach the connect care work flows specific to the South zone social work team.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years previous experience in health care social work is preferred. Experience working in acute care and home care settings is preferred. Knowledge and aware of local, provincial and federal programs accessed in health care is essential.
