Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Social Work. (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) through Heart & Stroke Foundation. Within the last two years, experience working with adult patients in cancer care, palliative care, and/ or outpatient clinic settings. Within the last two years, experience providing intervention using virtual health. Within the last two years, experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups to assess, diagnoses treat mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions as well as evaluate client response to treatment. Within the last two years, provided a range of adult evidence-based therapy models (e.g. trauma-focused therapy, CBT, etc). Experience providing family therapies. Experience and/or formal training administering and interpreting assessment instruments. Knowledge and application of harm reduction and risk mitigation approaches. Proficient with electronic medical systems (e.g., ARIA, SCM, EPIC, Connect Care). Proficient with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to engage and foster professional and therapeutic relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pattern of professional development related to oncology and/or palliative practice and care. Five years of adult acute care or outpatient clinic experience. Experience designing and providing staff/ students with clinic training and learning sessions. Experience providing trauma therapies through use of evidence-informed approaches. Membership on the ACSW Clinical Registry is an asset. Within the last five years, participation in or leading formal research projects.
