Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience working in Acute Care as a social worker. New graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered. Previous experience working in Mental Health, or with Mental Health Assessment Required. Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook Required. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, or standing as well as repetitive movements. Must be able to participate in hands on care of patients (i.e., transfers, bariatric clients, bending, Reaching, twisting, and walking distances). Must be able to lift and carry 10-15 kg regularly if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work. Experience working in the ER as a Social Worker. 5 years’ experience working in an acute care setting. Authorization to perform psychosocial interventions. Non-violent Crisis Intervention training. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training or equivalent. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Previous experience with Connect Care.
