This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Social Worker II to join the interdisciplinary team at the Stollery Children's Hospital. In this role, you will provide psychosocial support to children, youth, and families navigating complex medical, emotional, and social challenges. Working in a fast-paced pediatric environment, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and community partners to promote positive patient and family outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong assessment, crisis intervention, advocacy, and counselling skills, while applying a family-centered and trauma-informed approach to care. You will support patients and families through adjustment to illness, discharge planning, resource navigation, risk assessment, and coordination of services across hospital and community settings. As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent pediatric social work experience in an acute care setting is required. Demonstrated expertise in psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, family-centered care, discharge planning, and community resource coordination. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, cultural safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience working with complex pediatric populations and their families is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in pediatric acute care, emergency, ambulatory, or specialty clinic settings. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources, mental health supports, and trauma-informed practice. Experience working with diverse cultural populations. Proficiency with Connect Care (Epic) documentation, patient chart review, care planning, and referral workflows. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
