Social Worker II
Your Opportunity:
The Glenrose and Edmonton Suburban Hospitals are seeking a casual Social Worker II who can support emergency department and inpatient work across unique settings. This position requires a high degree of independent critical thinking and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to provide support to patients and families across a range of clinical activities including decision-making, finances, housing, crisis intervention, supportive counselling, resourcing, and system navigation. You will be required to prioritize workload, formulate assessments and create intervention plans while collaborating with hospital staff. The Casual Social Worker II will demonstrate exceptional communication skills with patients, family members and hospital staff that includes appropriate and professional Connect Care documentation. Each Hospital has distinctions and nuance while the functions of the role and overall Social Work approach will be aligned with the ACSW Standards of Practice, ethics, and all relevant legislation and policy. This position is expected to be available for shifts at multiple sites for evenings, weekends, and day shifts.
Description:
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of relevant Social Work employment experience. Understanding of ethics and ethical decision-making. Demonstrated familiarity with community resources.
