Social Worker II - Opioid Recovery Program will be supporting clients working towards recovery in local, rural, and remote areas. Helping clients access social supports to improve their overall health outcome. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience with Microsoft Office programs and zoom. Experience providing support to clients regarding both addiction and mental health concerns. Knowledge of systemic issues such as poverty and stigma. Suicide Prevention Training. Training and experience in mental health assessments and therapy. Experience working in an Opioid Agonist Treatment Program with knowledge of suboxone/buprenorphine and methadone.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care is preferred. Experience in counselling and case management is an asset. Mindfulness about cultural and gender diversity and positive regard towards clients. Experience with multi-cultural recovery pathways. Knowledge of an Indigenous language & culture. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset. Mental Health First Aid training is an asset. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider is an asset.
