Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:The candidate will have proven communication skills to work cooperatively and effectively with the health care team members, patients and their families in a fast paced environment. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working as an RSW in setting that combines work in in- and out-patient interdisciplinary settings. Strong professional judgment, initiative, and effective time management skills are necessary. Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Your quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. You must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. You must be able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who uses time effectively and is able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with inpatients and ambulatory patients with chronic disease. Preference for candidates with working knowledge of the health care system and community resources. Proficiency with Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are preferred. Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care and or principles of electronic documentation are preferred. Master's Degree and authorization for psychosocial intervention are an asset.
