Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Acute care experience within the last 2 years preferably at an urban or tertiary level facility. Excellent command of the English language demonstrated through excellence in verbal and written communication skills and active listening. Demonstrates compassion and empathy to patients, families and colleagues. Collaborative, cooperative and adaptable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Teams and PowerPoint is required. Quality of work must meet departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. Must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. Able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. Reliable, punctual, and uses time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care are preferred. Master's Degree and authorization for psychosocial interventions are an asset.
